Broker's Comments
The Westerly Typhoon is reportedly the rarest of all the models built by Westerly with only 40 boats being constructed between 1990 and 1993. Despite the low production numbers, this Ed Dubois design is widely regarded as one of the best boats Westerly’s ever produced. The design specification was to produce a ‘fast cruiser with ocean racing potential’. The design may not have fulfilled the requirements of ocean racing however, it has proven to be a very comfortable and capable offshore cruiser which can still perform competitively in club races.
Reported to be very light on the helm, wonderfully responsive and fast, this would make a great family boat or club racer capable of longer periods of cruising and offshore miles.
Westerly has always had a good reputation for build quality, and the hulls have Lloyds hull construction certificates.
This one appears to be well kitted out and maintained and is well worth a look.
